Nano Entrepreneurs

One of the aims of NanoNed is to start and support new business activities.

To this end support and courses will be offered to PhD students and PostDocs to coach entrepeneurial spirit:

  •  Patent workshops
  •  How to write a Business Plan
  •  How to work with road maps
  •  General entrepreneurial skills
  •  Support in establishing contact with experienced technostarters, ventures and  investors.

Several funding methods can support your plans to realise new business.

The Valorisation Grant is an initiative of STW and primarily intended to fund the setting up of new high-tech enterprises that emerge from knowledge and expertise within public knowledge institutes. Obtaining funds for the “embryonic” start-up phase is often difficult: there is too little basis to negotiate with external financers and existing research subsidies do not provide enough scope. The Valorisation Grant aims to bridge this 'funding gap'. However after this, external financiers will have to fund the further commercial development.

TechnoPartner stimulates and supports people who intend to start up an enterprise on basis of a technological invention. TechnoPartner is an initiative of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands.
